Our role and your next step
What does Medical2China help coordinate?
Medical2China helps connect patients, families and organisations with independent healthcare providers in China. We can assist with provider introductions, administrative contact, travel, accommodation, local transport and practical arrangements for later visits. The scope and fees are discussed and agreed for each engagement. Clinical assessment and treatment remain with the licensed provider.
Does contacting a coordinator mean a hospital has accepted me?
No. An enquiry, an introduction, document receipt, clinical review, an appointment and acceptance for admission or treatment are different stages. Ask the hospital which stage it has confirmed, what is still missing and who will confirm the next step. Coordination does not establish a treatment plan or guarantee an outcome.
Does Medical2China make clinical decisions for our clients?
No. Medical decisions, record review and acceptance remain with the independent hospital and clinicians. We coordinate provider contact and the practical service arrangements.
Does an initial enquiry establish a treatment, price or travel outcome?
It does not. Clinical decisions belong to the medical team. A cost estimate needs a defined scope and exclusions. Travel and entry arrangements require their own checks. An initial reply does not guarantee treatment, a final price, a visa or travel arrangements.
How can I contact Medical2China?
Use our contact page or email contact@medical2china.com. Keep the first enquiry general: your country or region, preferred language and timing, and the practical support you want to discuss. Do not send medical records or identifying health information to Medical2China. Clinical records go directly to the receiving provider through its approved channel.
Planning a visit
Can you help with both public and private hospitals in Shanghai?
Yes. We can help with access and administrative contact across Shanghai tertiary hospitals and private international care, including Jiahui International Hospital. The relevant department, campus and acceptance arrangements are confirmed for each enquiry.
Can I start before booking flights?
Yes. Begin with your general visit goal and preferred timing. Confirm the provider's next step before committing to travel arrangements.
Can a family member contact you?
Yes. A family member can enquire about practical support and companion arrangements. The provider explains any requirements for communicating about an individual patient's care.
What should a family prepare first?
For the receiving hospital, begin with a concise clinical question and a dated record summary. Ask that hospital which reports, original imaging or pathology material it needs, the accepted languages and formats, and its designated submission route. Keep originals alongside translations. Medical2China does not examine or interpret these records.
What should I ask before making arrangements?
Ask who handles provider contact, which language support is actually available, what practical services are included, how fees and responsibilities are explained, and who will respond next. Confirm the hospital, campus and proposed next step. Plan travel around confirmed arrangements and the treating clinician’s advice about fitness to travel.
How are costs handled?
Our coordination scope and fees are agreed separately from hospital charges and third-party travel costs. Medical estimates and treatment-related charges come from the provider.
How can follow-up remain connected after returning home?
Ask the treating team how records and clinical instructions will reach your responsible clinicians at home. Confirm whom to contact about future appointments and what practical arrangements may be needed for another visit. Medical follow-up remains with the responsible clinicians; Medical2China can help with administrative contact and travel arrangements, without replacing your treating team.
Can I contact a hospital directly?
Yes. If you have an appropriate hospital contact and can manage the communication and travel arrangements yourself, you can discuss the process directly with that hospital. Medical2China offers practical support where you want it; agree the scope before making arrangements. The hospital decides assessment and acceptance in either case.
Does coordination provide emergency or around-the-clock medical care?
No. Medical2China is not an emergency service and does not provide medical care. Any practical contact support and response arrangements must be agreed for the specific engagement. For an urgent medical problem, contact local emergency services or qualified clinicians.
Organisations and partnerships
Can an overseas agent or clinic work with you?
Yes. We welcome discussions with referral and service partners. Use our partnership page to explain your organisation, location and the support you would like to coordinate.
Can we discuss an enquiry before referring a patient?
Yes. Start with the type of coordination you need and your organisation's role. Individual clinical information should follow the receiving provider's approved process.
Does this page establish a referral agreement or commission arrangement?
No. The enquiry starts a discussion. Any collaboration, fees and commercial terms are agreed separately between the relevant parties.
Can you work with an organisation outside healthcare?
We welcome relevant enquiries from employers, assistance services, communities and practical service providers. We will discuss the requested scope and how it fits the people you support.
What makes an institutional referral useful?
For the receiving clinical team, include the patient’s permission, the precise clinical question, an indexed document list, a named handover contact and the next decision requested. Use the provider’s approved record-submission channel. Discuss administrative roles and financial responsibilities separately; an initial business enquiry to Medical2China should contain no identifiable patient information.
Does coordination establish an insurance payment arrangement?
No. The insurer, hospital and other contracting parties must confirm any applicable payment arrangement. A referral or coordination discussion does not establish insurance coverage, direct billing or membership of an insurance network.
